Accidents and injuries can happen at any time — whether you’re out on the trail, at a competition, or in the paddock. That’s why having a solid understanding of equine first aid is essential for every horse owner. Knowing how to stay calm and take action can make all the difference before your vet arrives.
At Bowral Co-op, we’re committed to supporting the local equine community with quality products, advice, and practical education. That’s why we’re excited to be hosting a free Equine First Aid session on Tuesday 13 May, led by Dr George Davidson McLeod of Southern Cross Equine Vet.
George has been providing compassionate, expert veterinary care across the Southern Highlands since 2019, and we’re excited to welcome him to the Co-op to share his knowledge.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to assess a situation and recognise a true emergency
- First response steps you can take before the vet arrives
- Common injuries and how to treat them
- Bandaging demonstration and tips
- What to keep in your equine first aid kit
Whether you’re new to horse care or have years of experience, there’s always more to learn — and this hands-on session will be a great opportunity to build your skills and confidence.
