The Bowral Co-op Board is very pleased to announce that Mr Greg Welsh has been appointed as General Manager to the Bowral Co-op and will be commencing his employment on Monday 30th June 2025.
Greg has worked as a CEO and senior executive in private and public companies. He has also grown start-ups, SMEs and run high profile charities. Each of these companies was high growth. Greg’s roles have had a particular focus on sales, distribution and warehousing and this experience is across a number of industries including pathology, manufacturing and commercial supplies.
Greg’s approach is to build strong teams and then rely on his staff’s expertise to build the businesses. Through his career, Greg has had substantial experience in Quality Assurance and workplace safety (WHS).
In 2018, Greg became the only person in Australia awarded by the United Nations for Leadership in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and has other awards for leadership in Sustainability and Procurement.
Greg and his wife moved to Bowral 12 months ago from Sydney and Greg has been working as a consultant and NSW Government registered business adviser.
Enjoying his years growing up on a cattle farm near Singleton and enjoying a rural lifestyle were key reasons for moving to the Southern Highlands. Greg is a committee member of GROW Southern Highlands, which has allowed him to work on assisting local producers and engaging with the food industry and vineyards. He sees the opportunity of working at and growing the Co-op as the perfect extension of this.
We are confident that his skills and experience will drive growth of the business as we move towards our centenary year and beyond.
Growing together,
Rebecca Hogan
